Charlie's Restaurant - Amsterdam, NY
Phone: 518-842-7399
Review: Food was good with nice size portions. Service was also very friendly. Place was crowded and from the sounds of it, if you are going on a Friday or Saturday, you will want to make reservations. Above is the Loaded Alfreado which was $13.99 and soft drinks are $2.29 piece with free refills. Recommended.

African Lion Safari - Cambridge, Canada
African Lion Safari
African Lion Safari is a Canadian owned family business created in the name of conservation. Our manner of exhibiting animals is completely different from the traditional approach; that is, the visitor is caged in the car, and the animals roam in 2 to 20 hectare (5 to 50 acre) reserves. We first opened the gates to the public in 1969 with 40 lions in 3 reserves; today the park houses in excess of 1000 animals of over 100 species. After 39 years we have been successful with breeding 30 species that are considered endangered, and 20 or more species that are considered threatened. The original idea of "maintaining self-sustaining populations of species in decline" is still our priority.

The drive thru was nice and worth doing, sufficient room to pass on the road if needed. The animals were some of the most active we've seen in a drive thru safari. You can also hit the drive thru as many times as you wish.
Try to use the restrooms before you get there if you are a women, the lines can be somewhat lengthy. The park it's self was ok and since it was included in the price of the drive thru, it's worth taking a peak at. There are pony rides for the kids at an afordable $4.00
and an elephant ride for the family at $5.00. The train that takes you around the park is $8.00. There is a small waterpark for the kids and a petting zoo. There are 3-4 shows daily, that if timed right, you can hit one after the other since they are within a short distance from each other. Food cost is what one would expect to pay for theme park food (approx $2.00 for a bottle of water). However there are a lot of picnic tables so you could bring your own food and save a lot.

BUSKERFEST 2008 - Cambridge, Toronto, Canada

Scotiabank BUSKERFEST 2008 - August 21st to 24th ::: In support of EPILEPSY Toronto
Buskers are gutsy street performers who fly by the seat of their pants - sometimes literally! They boldly take their astonishing talent right into the audience where spectator participation ensures every show is just a little different.
Witness some of the most energetic and creative entertainment imaginable - from the magical art of transforming chunks of candy into intricate dragons, to the high-flying antics of pogo acrobatics, to the bizarre culinary spectacle of a bologna sandwich being prepared... by foot! With their quick wit and stunning acts of the incredible, these performers know how to draw a crowd.

If your in the area, absolutely worth visiting. There is no premade schedule for the performers, but in their designated spot the is a board which lists the performing times. The price from the food vendors is reasonable (candy apple $3.00, corn on the cob $3.00, pierogies $4.00). There are also a lot of free giveaways from milk to slinkies. Some of the performances are just OK, spending more time at the beginning trying to draw a crowd then performing.

Underground City - Canada - Quebec, Montreal
Underground City - Montreal Attractions
The most famous aspect of shopping in Montreal is the Underground City, directly under the heart of the city, 19 miles long. Constantly growing, the "city" - which links many major buildings and multi-level shopping malls in the area - is a shopper's paradise in any season.
You’ll be amazed by its brightly lit, scrupulously clean passageways, linking thousands of boutiques, major hotels, restaurants, universities, dozens of office buildings and attractions. This is definitely the Montréal of Montrealers. Every day more than 500,000 people connect through here on their way to work, shop, dine or spend a night—or day—on the town.
One major section is reached via Peel and McGill metro stations on the green line, and another via Bonaventure station on the orange line. Safe and sheltered from the elements, the Underground City offers a huge range of goods and services as well as a handy way to get from place to place without weather or traffic problems.

Eastman's Docks - Hampton Beach, NH
Eastman's Docks :: Our Tours :: Deep Sea Fishing Tours: "All Day Fishing provides fun and excitement for both the pro and novice. Generally off to Jeffrey's Ledge, one of the most productive fishing grounds in the world! Fishing depths range from 100' to 300' for cod, haddock, pollack and a variety of other bottom feeders.
Half Day Fishing, is fun for the entire family. Whether the season warrants mackerel and cod just a few miles off shore or a picturesque ride to the Isles of Shoals just 40 minutes away for the action packed excitement of blue fishing. Half day trips aboard our vessel gives fun and excitement from the youngest to the oldest in the family."

Review:
Visited on 8/14/08
Fishing portion is great, did half a day and the price was good at only $36 (after $2 coupon from their website) which included rod rental. The workers were friendly and helpful. The boats have a liquor license so you can get drinks and snacks onboard. Only $1 per fish to have them gut and clean your catch. The restaurants food is just ok, though brought down by awful service and pricey meals. We had to seat ourselves, fetch our own menus and go back for napkins; all of which we had time for since it took about 40 minutes for 2 bowls of clam chowder, 1 side salad and 1 chicken strip dinner. I realize this seems picky, but when you combine it with any average price of $14, you expect some basics in your service. Overall a must do for the fishing, but eat before you get there and skip the restaurant.

Step Back In Time...
Our 100 year old water wheel still powers the cider mill, as well as our old fashioned ice cream maker. This incredible array of belts, pulleys and line shafts move apples through the mill, up the apple elevator, through the grinder and finally to our antique, knuckle joint cider press, where they are squeezed and blended to produce our famous Eagle Mills Cider.
The same waters of the Kennyetto Creek that dance in an endless cascade through the water wheel, also flow under New York's only remaining double-walkway, drive through Covered Bridge.
Your family will also enjoy many other fun attractions:
• Eagle Mills Express Train• Gemstone Mining• Dino Dig• Kidsville• Ice Cream Mill• Bakery and Fudge Shop• Petting Goat Junction

Howe Caverns - Howes Cave, NY
Howe Caverns: the Northeast's premier natural show cave
Imagine...stepping into an elevator that takes you 156 feet below the Earth's surface. When the elevator stops, the doors open into a prehistoric underground cavern six million years in the making. As you exit into the Vestibule, your imagination takes hold.
The air down here is different. A constant 52º Fahrenheit / 12º Celcius and 70-75% humidity, year round.
As your eyes adjust to the underworld, shadows hide secrets in every crack and crevice. Sound echos off the walls and ceiling, reminding you of just how deep you have decended and what surprises await you in the underground wonder.
You don't have to be a serious caver or spelunker to appreciate the geology of Howe Caverns. Your specially trained tour guide will help you negotiate the cave and learn about the magnificent limestone formations, the stalactites, stalagmites and flowstone, and the tremendous conservation effort underway to protect and preserve Howe Caverns for future generations.
